Heritage and Home

Drawing inspiration from the demographics of the area, Heritage and Home was successfully integrated into the festival called Past, Present and Future organised by Wandsworth Borough of Culture, 2025.

Our heritage is embedded in stories of human migration that are passed down through generations. Home is where we are now. While sharing stories, intergenerational connections are nurtured. Residents of the borough of Wandsworth were invited to take part in free workshops. A ‘living library’ was created by the participants. They held the stories. We spoke about heritage, how they came to live in Wandsworth and the meaning of home.

While sharing their stories, they connected with each other which promoted an intergenerational closeness. The humanity aspect of this event is very important because communities are built on that. The collection of interviews was created into a film and the digital archive will be given back to the community. This project was environmentally friendly and non-invasive.
